Meet Imari Medeiros, LICSW
Eating Disorder Therapist
I have had the privilege of walking alongside clients through some of life's most difficult challenges. I have seen firsthand how anxiety can keep you from joy, depression can make daily tasks feel like you’re climbing a mountain, how eating disorders can make you afraid of the holidays, and trauma can ruin relationships, trust, and boundaries.
My experience spans nearly every level of mental health care in Massachusetts, including inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, eating disorder residential treatment, Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), outpatient clinics, emergency psychiatric services, and school systems. These settings have given me a first hand broad perspective on the recovery journey and the unique needs of each individual.
I help people feel normal around food again and find relief from anxiety. I support people as they process their trauma and stop people pleasing behaviors. I'm an eating disorder therapist who has a passion for helping others stop the binge cycle, improve body image and trauma symptoms and work with their anxiety instead of against it.
I don't tiptoe around the work that needs to be done in recovery, and do best working with clients who feel ready for the challenges recovery can bring.
