Individual Psychotherapy Sessions

Eating Disorder & Trauma Therapist in Massachusetts and Connecticut

(Private Pay / Telehealth)

Over the past several years, Imari has been supporting individuals with healing their relationships with food, their bodies, and themselves through specialized eating disorder, anxiety, and/or trauma therapy.

Private-pay services are available for adolescents, young adults, and adults who are ready to use therapy as a meaningful step toward greater balance, confidence, and overall well-being.

Here, therapy is trauma-informed, affirming, and aligned with Health at Every Size® (HAES®), grounded in the belief that healing happens in spaces free of shame and judgment. Clients are met with compassion, respect, and curiosity, creating room to safely explore challenges and build sustainable tools for change.

Treatment integrates evidence-based approaches including Psychodynamic approaches, Relational Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and somatic-based practices. Each session is thoughtfully tailored to individual needs, ensuring therapy feels practical, personalized, and accessible. Currently, therapy at Golden Psychotherapy provides telehealth psychotherapy sessions throughout Massachusetts and Connecticut, making support flexible and convenient for clients across both states.

Fees & Accessibility

Choosing private-pay therapy in Massachusetts allows you to prioritize your mental health on your own terms. Sessions are designed specifically for you, not dictated by insurance limitations, so you receive specialized, individualized care for eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, and related challenges. Private-pay therapy also ensures your identity and personal experiences are respected, creating a safe and culturally responsive, affirming space for BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and other marginalized clients. Working with a specialized therapist in eating disorders and trauma promotes better outcomes and results-oriented support, while flexible private-pay options—including Superbills and limited sliding scale availability—help make high-quality, individualized therapy more accessible.

Private-pay telehealth sessions: $150 per 60 minutes

I do not accept insurance, but I provide Superbills for out-of-network reimbursement

Limited sliding scale options available upon request

If you’re seeking a private-pay eating disorder or trauma therapist in Massachusetts, I invite you to reach out to schedule a consultation.

  • A superbill is an itemized receipt that includes all the information your insurance company needs to consider reimbursing you for therapy services. While it resembles a claim form, a superbill is not a bill from your insurance company and does not guarantee reimbursement. Instead, it serves as documentation that you received a clinical service on a specific date.

  • If your insurance plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits, you may be eligible for reimbursement for therapy sessions. To use a superbill:

Attend your session and pay at the time of service. Golden Psychotherapy, PLLC does not bill insurance directly.

Request a superbill. You may receive superbills monthly or after each session—just let your therapist know your preference.

Submit the superbill to your insurance provider. Many insurers accept uploads through online portals; others accept mailed claims.

Insurance reviews your claim. Your insurer will use the information on the superbill to decide whether the session qualifies for reimbursement.

Receive reimbursement (if approved). If approved, your insurance company will send payment directly to you, not Golden Psychotherapy, PLLC.
