Meet Imari!
Hello!
My name is Imari Medeiros (she/her), I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the state of Massachusetts. I have worked in the mental health field for the past 10 years and feel honored to be in my current role as a psychotherapist.
I am a cis-gender Afro-Latina, born and raised in Brockton, Massachusetts. I attended Simmons University School of Social Work where I earned my Master of Social Work and prior to this obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at Bridgewater State University. My experience working in many levels of care with different age groups, cultures, and communities has provided a wide range of skills which has allowed me to support many clients of all backgrounds.
I believe that therapy is most effective when it feels like a real, human connection. I have found being myself and bringing my personality into the therapeutic space as healing happens in relationships that feel safe, honest, and collaborative. I strive to meet each client exactly where they are, honoring their pace and perspective while offering steady support and reflection. I create space for clients to feel seen and validated, while also gently challenging patterns that may no longer serve them. My approach blends empathy with insight, with intent to create meaningful change through both compassion and clarity.
