-
A superbill is an itemized receipt that includes all the information your insurance company needs to consider reimbursing you for therapy services. While it resembles a claim form, a superbill is not a bill from your insurance company and does not guarantee reimbursement. Instead, it serves as documentation that you received a clinical service on a specific date.
-
If your insurance plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits, you may be eligible for reimbursement for therapy sessions. To use a superbill:
Attend your session and pay at the time of service. Golden Psychotherapy, PLLC does not bill insurance directly.
Request a superbill. You may receive superbills monthly or after each session—just let your therapist know your preference.
Submit the superbill to your insurance provider. Many insurers accept uploads through online portals; others accept mailed claims.
Insurance reviews your claim. Your insurer will use the information on the superbill to decide whether the session qualifies for reimbursement.
Receive reimbursement (if approved). If approved, your insurance company will send payment directly to you, not Golden Psychotherapy, PLLC.
